David is a General Partner and member of the Investment Committee at Solas BioVentures. He served as CEO of The Lupton Company, LLC, a family office, from 2012 through 2025, having joined the firm in 1997 and progressed through multiple leadership roles including Controller, CFO, and CEO. David was also a founding partner of the Chattanooga Renaissance Fund, which helped foster early-stage investing in the Chattanooga area.

He currently serves on the Investment Committee of the Benwood Foundation, the Endowment Committee of the UTC Foundation, as a Trustee of the Lupton Family Trusts, and on the board of Cryosa, Inc. David earned his B.S. and M.Acc. from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and his MBA from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
